NAAKISS,THE BLIND BARTIMAEUS - EDIDIONG ITA

The current situation of a one time lion of the students community in Akwa Ibom has called for every right thinking student leader in Akwa Ibom state to react as NAAKISS is the only indigenous students body owned by us and if anything goes wrong with it,then we will have no choice than to blame our conscience.
l may not be a NAAKISS leader but as a student leader from Akwa Ibom,l believe l am still under the only indigenous students body which has given birth to so many politicians in the state.

l will like to relate this write-up to a certain story in the bible which clearly explains the current status of NAAKISS. "And they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Well,the above is a familiar story that many of us are acquainted with, a few days ago ,the chapter president of NAAKISS,Uniuyo was spotted wandering around the ambiance of Uyo in search of a Keke that could drive him down his destination, the young innocent man who went about his normal activities could only become an instrument of satire by media jobbers who are only after running down students leaders. 

After l pondered over the issue,l came to imagine why government is less concerned about students leaders,why should a whole worldwide president of NAAKISS go around without a car for the ASSOCISTION,why should NAAKISS be ridiculed this far,why have we given lesser concentration to the only indigenous students body that we have, where are the ancestors of NAAKISS, where are the stakeholders in NAAKISS, can't they see that NAAKISS is beckoning on them just like Bartimeaus, where are the likes of Cy Umoren, Akuku Utitofon, Cyril Udoekong, where are the patrons of NAAKISS,can't they see that NAAKISS has been spat on?

l felt so bad when l saw the picture of this man trending just because Government and the leaders of NAAKISS have decided to ignore the very bond that developed NAAKISS.

There can be no other National Association of Akwa Ibom state students outside the one we have,So we have to rise up to the fact that we have no choice than to promote our thing,no matter how you look at it,NAAKISS should be first in our agenda as it stands to cover every student from this state.

I call on government and students leaders in Akwa Ibom to restore the dignity of NAAKISS by giving the body the necessary support to succeed because NAAKISS IS BEGGING LIKE BLIND BARIMEAUS.
