A name to be reckoned with; the inconspicuous John Black has served his time underground. This multi-talented artist, musician, sound engineer, producer and song writer has been co-responsible for hits like; Stress Reliver and Generation song by Zeal, Spin me like a cd by the late Goldie.
He has worked with renowned artists from the likes of Bez, Seyi Shay, General Pype, Uzi, Shank and many more, he recently featured on the track “anyhow” by Blink of Syndicate records along side Tec of SDC (Show Dem Camp), he also produced and rapped on the track “poor man prayer” with Mojeed.
John Black has garnered for himself a diploma in Music production and Business from the prestigious Middlesex University giving him an edge amongst his peers.
His soon to be released album “Labour of Love” was inspired by his relentless love for music despite the hurdles he has faced as a true creative, he says, ‘there are a lot of starving artists but i have never heard of a straved artist’. His first single “streets” describes the popular culture of Lagos in a witty and clever manner. The music video directed by KC UMA Godson depicts the story of a struggling young man trying to get through a day on the streets of Lagos.
