LeBron James Will Send Every Kid Who Finishes His Mentoring Program To College For Free

LeBron James is looking to make a major impact in his hometown of Akron, Ohio beyond just delivering an NBA championship to the community.

Earlier this Summer, LeBron announced that every kid in Akron who completes his six-year mentoring program, as a part of the LeBron James Family Foundation, would be going to college on his dime.

That's right. Up to 1,000 Ohio kids who are enrolled in the 'I PROMISE' program could be going to college free of charge, thanks to LeBron.

But, not even that was enough to satisfy LeBron. He's also looking to encourage the parents of those children in his program who don't have a High School degree or GED.

In a partnership with Project Learn of Summit County, James has officially launched the initiative called 'I PROMISE, Too' which will help parents or guardians of kids in LeBron's 'I PROMISE' program.

The new program for adults is called “I PROMISE, Too” and so far counts nine adults – who will be taught by instructors from Project Learn. Again, only parents or guardians of children in James’ mentorship program are eligible.

In the new program, enrollees received an inspirational letter from the Cavaliers superstar basketball player, HP laptop computers that they can keep if they finish the classes, and free bus passes and parking to attend class.

Participants will also have covered the $6 cost to take the GED practice test and $120 cost for taking the entire, official GED exam. The foundation will also provide prizes for good attendance, work progress, and other achievements.

LeBron catches more than enough flack for nearly every move he makes, but if you can't get behind how much he's doing for the community in Ohio, you're just a troll of epic proportions.
